Paul Harris Award Pin Recipients - March 2025
Congratulations to (L-R) Pat Klak, Kasey Kozicky and Jacquie Olsen as our latest recipients of the Paul Harris Award.

The Paul Harris Award is an honor given by Rotary International to recognize people who have contributed to Rotary's ideals. The award is named after Paul Harris, one of Rotary's founders.
These 3 individuals hardly need any introduction to any of us. Pat Klak is a Past-President and has been a member of the Club for over 30 years. Kasey Kozicky is also a 30+ year member, a Past President, and currently our Treasurer and Co-President. Jacquie Olsen is one of those people that hangs out in the shadows but is that stalwart member who looks after setting up and running the registration desk at every function and then gets to put it all away when it's all over. She is the one that always greets you with a smiling face in the morning and is happy to take your money for breakfast, 50/50 tickets and collects Happy Bucks and Fines.
Pat, Kasey and Jacquie, thank you for all you do for the Rotary Club of Nisku Leduc. You are all so deserving of the Paul Harris Award. Congratulations!
How does the award work?
- Rotary clubs can award the award to anyone they deem worthy, whether or not they are a Rotarian.
- The recipient is known as a Paul Harris Fellow.
- The award includes a certificate, a pin, and a citation.
- The recipient's name is included on a donation of $1,000 or more to Rotary International's Annual Program Fund.
Why is the award given?
- To honor people who have contributed to Rotary's Annual Fund, PolioPlus, or an approved Foundation grant
- To recognize people who have contributed to Rotary's ideals of service above self
- To recognize people who have supported the community, whether locally, nationally, or internationally
Who receives the award?
- Rotarians and community professionals
- People who demonstrate a shared purpose with Rotary's objective

Paul Harris Award to Harold Wilson - May 2023

The highest award in Rotary is the Paul Harris Award and is given to a Rotarian or a member of the community that has made an outstanding contribution to the community. Harold is a most deserving recipient of this award as he has been a valuable contributing member to the Nisku-Leduc Club for 5 years serving many of those years as our Fundraising Director. Harold is always a fun person to be around with his always jovial spirit & good nature and has been a valuable member of the Club and the Leduc Community. Thank you for your service and wear your Paul Harris pin proudly!
This is a good news, sad news story though as Harold is leaving our Club effective immediately. Harold and his family have decided that it is now time to return to their home town of Thunder Bay, Ontario. I'm sure that your previous Rotary Club will welcome you back with open arms and you will pick up right where you left off! Harold, we are going to miss you big guy, you leave big shoes (literally) to fill! Safe travels, good luck in all your future endeavors and please keep in touch!

Paul Harris Award to Myrtle Smith - May 2021
Congratulations to Myrtle Smyth for receiving the Paul Harris Award!
The highest award in Rotary is the Paul Harris Award. It is given to a Rotarian or a member of the community that has made an outstanding contribution to the community. Myrtle exemplifies this award in so many ways as a long term member of the Nisku Leduc Rotary Club and has been the Music Festival Director for many years. She is a steady volunteer in so many things that our club is involved with, be it called on to be our last minute greeter, go-to person for grace, selling 50/50 tickets at our fund raising events and just all-around active and awesome community volunteer and Rotarian!. For all you do Myrtle, the Club thanks you for your service! Congratulations!
