Member Gary Sandercock, Board Member and Executive Director Dianna Sims from the Leduc & District Seniors Centre joined us this past week to talk about what's going on at the Telford House in Leduc. Dianna gave us a great run down on what happens at this busy place and I think that all of us could benefit from a membership at the Senior Centre as they have so many things happening there! And like most non-profit groups, funding is always an issue and our Board will be discussing a funding request for the Centre.

The Leduc & District Senior Centre provides programs and activities to enhance seniors' life styles. These include music jam sessions, guitar, summer music in the park, exercise and yoga classes, line dancing, darts, floor curling, sturling (drop in floor curling), bridge, canasta, crib, euchre, knitting, painting, and a lunch program. The facility is also used to promote health care issues such as Parkinson's and Alzheimer's support meetings and as a casual drop-in for seniors to meet socially.
The Leduc and District Senior Centre is registered in Alberta as a Charitable Society and is managed by a Board of Directors. We have a part time Executive Director who manages the day to day operation of the facility, and a part time administrative assistant. Office hours are 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday to Friday.
