It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our Honorary member George Lavertu. George has been a member and a diligent volunteer for the Rotary Club of Nisku Leduc since 2003. Many may also remember George as the owner of the Smitty’s Restaurant in Leduc for many years.
In addition to being a Rotarian, George was also on the Boards of the Leduc Chamber of Commerce, Leduc Economic Development, the Leduc & District Food Bank, MS Bike Tour Leduc to Camrose and the Leduc Rotary Music Festival.
George is survived by his 2 daughters, Pam and Lisa and grand daughter Mikayla. George did not want a funeral or memorial to please remember George in your own way. He will be missed by the community in which he loved so dearly.
