To follow is the email I received from Ihor with the Rotary Club of Kharkiv who received our wire transfer for funds we raised at the Leduc Chamber Expo.

Nothing better than Rotary to Rotary direct funding where 100% of the money gets to those that need it. No middle organizations that chew up a big percentage of the money in administration.

Just look at the faces in the pictures and you will see why we need to continue with this support.

Check out their page at the following link to see all the amazing work they are doing under very severe and dangerous conditions.

Hello, Gordon

We spent all the money for canned fish - we bought 2400 cans for $2367 (USD). I am attaching some photos of the people that we gave food packages including canned fish to.

I would also like you to send me some information about people involved in this - so we would know to whom we can be thankful (except you and your club of course - we already know you :)

Best regards
Ihor Kvasha

President Jon Bissell and Club Member Harold Wilson shown holding a cheque for $3280.00 which was raised last spring at the Chamber Expo 50/50 draw through the efforts of the Nisku Leduc Rotary Club. This money raised was destined to be used for humanitarian aid in the Ukraine. It took some time to find and qualify a Rotary Club that was involved in doing good work in Ukraine and we wanted to be able to send the money directly from one Rotary Club to another Rotary Club. It was important to find a way to get the funds direct to the cause and have no middle-man or agency involved that would take a cut for commission or administration costs.

Through sources in a couple of Clubs in our District and District 5360 ( Southern Alberta ) Harold Wilson, who has very close ties to the Ukraine through family members, was able to confirm that the Rotary Club of Kharkiv - New Level was doing amazing work in Kharkiv under very difficult and dangerous circumstances. Direct contact was made with them and it was arranged to send the funds via a Wise.com international money transfer with funds expected to be in their account on Monday, Nov. 7th.
