Being a member of a Rotary club does not make someone a Rotarian, it only makes them a member of a club.  A Rotarian helps the club achieve its goals and acts with high ethical standards.  A Rotarian also participates in the club’s community projects both locally and internationally.

I had no problem deciding who in our club was the most worthy of this award for the 2020-21 Rotary year.  This member has gone above and beyond the realm of Rotary service and I have full confidence that my decision was one that all of the club's membership agreed with.

On June 24, 2021 at our Turnover Meeting, I was pleased to announce that our club’s Rotarian of the Year for 2020-21 is:

Kasey Kozicky

To present the award to Kasey at his home while we Zoomed in to watch was the previous Rotarian of the Year winner, Jacquie Olsen.  As we could not be together in person, I thought it only fitting that Jacquie should hand the plaque on to Kasey.

In recognition of Kasey's outstanding demonstration of Service Above Self; principled commitment to the 4-Way Test; contributions to the mission and operation of our club through each of the Rotary Avenues of Service; and for promoting Rotary by your actions and involvement, I was pleased to thank him for his service on behalf of a grateful club.  It was my honour to lead the membership to raise our glasses in a toast to Kasey!
