Rotary Club of Morinville endorses local application to the LAV III Monument Program
On February 7, 2018 the Rotary Club of Morinville hosted a presentation by community member Jayson Wood regarding the LAV III Monument Program.
Jayson pitched the idea for Morinville to submit an application to the Monument Program for a decommissioned LAV III vehicle to be awarded to the Town of Morinville. If awarded, the LAV III vehicle would be incorporated as the center-piece of a monument and informational display within the Town boundaries. The LAV III was noted by Jayson to be a significant modern symbol of the Canadian Forces.
Cognizant of the Morinville community's strong ties to the Canadian Forces, with a large number of local community members being active or retired members of the Canadian Forces, the Rotary Club was very receptive to the proposal put forward by Jayson and has decided to endorse and support an application to the Monument Program.
The Rotary Club of Morinville looks forward to working with the municipality and the local community to raise and organize support for this worthwhile project.
