I’m in Rotary because … of the Rotary goals & values that match my own. Rotary provides a sense of belonging to like-minded people who care to create hope for a better self, community and world through services work, fun, and fellowship. Rotary reciprocity brings me joy, happiness, and freedom and taking action in Rotary service feeds my soul and then the souls of others - humanitarian work all to meet basic human needs. Lastly, peoples smiles keep me in Rotary, with an example being children’s laughter and smiles as they go down a slide in Belize for the very first time – bringing tears of joy & happiness!
Guess What … in keeping with the current Rotary focus of better understanding and breaking the stigma of mental health, I am a grateful alcoholic/addict in Recovery. I have a disease that takes vigilance, perseverance, patience, and time to stay sober and connected – and by sharing, I’m not bottling it up
