As Rotarians the Jasper Rotary Club members regularly contribute our Talent, Time and Treasure to Create Hope in the World. Here are some examples of what we’ve been up to lately:

On March 27, 2024, Danielle Stewart was formally inducted into the Rotary Club of Jasper by President Hélène Gendron. Expressing her willingness to adhere to Rotary's principles and contribute to community and international projects, Danielle embraced the ethos of "Service above self." She received a Rotary welcome package, gaining insight into the organization's local, district, and international operations, along with a reminder of Rotary's core values encapsulated in the Four-Way Test. President Hélène adorned her with the Rotary emblem, marking her official membership in the club, welcoming her to a global community of 1.2 million members across 34,000 clubs united in their commitment to humanitarian service.

Learning about the Women's Shelter

In a stirring presentation to the Rotary Club of Jasper, Marj Luger, Executive Director of the Yellowhead Emergency Shelter emphasized the critical importance of the Women's Shelter. Marj's impassioned address underscored the pressing need for resources and assistance for the Women's Shelter, shining a spotlight on issues of security, fairness, and service. Her presentation resonated deeply with the audience.

The Rotary Club of Jasper provided a donation of $1000 to support the vital work of the Women's Shelter. This contribution reflects the club's unwavering dedication to making a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need within the community.

Presentation by Heidi Veluw

Heidi Veluw, executive director of Jasper Employment and Education Centre (JEEC) delivered a compelling presentation at the Rotary Club of Jasper, shedding light on the challenges faced by new residents in finding employment amidst the scarcity of work during the mild winter weather. Her discussion underscored the vital role of the Jasper Employment & Education Centre in addressing these challenges, offering a range of services to support individuals in their quest for meaningful employment. The Centre provides job search assistance, resume building workshops, skills training programs, and career counseling, serving as a crucial resource for the community in navigating the complexities of the job market. Heidi's presentation not only highlighted the pressing issues at hand but also showcased the invaluable contributions of organizations like the Jasper Employment & Education Centre in fostering economic empowerment and prosperity within the community.
