Xtreme Hike With Exchange Student

Noemi Klarer was taken to Grande Cache on July 18th to experience a portion of the Canadian Death Race trail. Rotarians Ken Loudon, Dan Wong, Dan Drake and Cheryl Budjak as well as Karen Pascut, David Miller and Amber Miller all completed the 27km trek up 2 mountain peaks.
The hike was considerably more difficult than anticipated, but everyone had a great time and experienced quite a sense of accomplishment once it was completed. Noemi developed some blistering on her heals early in the hike, but powered through. Conditions were almost ideal for most of the 9 hour hike except for some rain late in the day that affected most of the area, but left our rotarian team almost unscathed.
Despite the sore legs the next day, everyone had a great time and they can support first hand the Death Race slogan, "It's a Killer".

Hope you all enjoy this video. The next hike will take place in late August or early September when the new exchange student arrives. It will be much easier, but just as scenic. I'd like to encourage other members to join in the fun. It's a great way to get to know the exchange students.
