Past President Dan Wong presented Executive Director Helen Ficocelli of Cool Aid Society with a cheque for $75,000 towards their new building.  The Rotary Clubs in Grande Prairie had made a decision to jointly fund this organization's request to build a second location.  The Grande Prairie Rotary Club will be contributing another $75,000 and the Sunrise Rotary Club will donate an additional $25,000 for this project.  On top of the $175,000 donation, the 3 clubs along with Rotaract will put in some manual labour to finish the building once the walls are up.

Cool Aid Society has agreed to provide Rotary with the proper recognition for their donation once the project has been completed.  The initial seed money will be used to seek matching grants through Alberta's Promise and the Wildrose Foundation.  If they're successful, they'll be over 60% closer to their goal of between $500,000 and $600,000.

Swan City Rotary contributed to this project by meeting with city employees, the Community Development Committee and the Director of Community Services for the city.  The Rotary Quad Club Council met in early 2007 and agreed to work together to make this project happen.  We will continue to provide progress reports as this project develops.
