New Paul Harris Fellows

Steven Shavers, Jim Boccioletti, Elizabeth Nakagawa and Darcy Rautenstrauch were welcomed as the newest Paul Harris Fellows from the Swan City Rotary Club. Chris Andersen also received his 6th Paul Harris pin during this ceremony.
The Rotary Foundation of the Rotary International named the above mentioned Rotarians as Paul Harris Fellows and a multiple Paul Harris Fellow was also recognized. As the certificate reads, the awards are given "in appreciation of tangible and significant assistance given for the futherance of better understanding and friendly relations among peoples of the world."
Paul Harris Fellows are given to an individual who contribute $1000 US or more to the Rotary Foundation. The funds received are held by the Foundation for 3 years. The interest earned is used to help cover administration costs for Rotary International. After 3 years, 50% of the funds come back to our district and the other 50% is used by Rotary International. 100% of the money is used to run Rotary programs.
Currently, the Rotary Foundation has cash assets totalling approximately 180 million dollars (US) in its permanent fund. The Benefactor and Bequest Society has additional pledges of $315 million dollars (US) in future expectancies.
The Rotary Foundation is a registered charity that was set up in 1917 to enable Rotarians and friends of the Foundation to voluntarily contribute to the vision of a better world.
