Tegwyn Curtis and Nicole Chrenek gave an excellent presentation on June 12th at our Rotary Luncheon.

Mighty Peace Day is Grande Prairie’s vision for inspiring more youth to contribute to worthy causes and will mimic all of the other We Day’s across the country. Supported by Free The Children and We Day, Grande Prairie will be the first ever city, with a population of 250,000 or less, to host a Free The Children sanctioned event of this magnitude.

Similar to We Day, Grande Prairie youth will not be able to buy tickets to Mighty Peace Day; they will earn access to it by volunteering or raising funds to make a positive change locally, nationally, or globally. Mighty Peace Day will inspire more than 4,000 youth in North Western Alberta to go back to their schools and actively encourage others to take action.

Internationally-renowned speakers including Craig Kielburger, Spencer West, and Molly Burke are already committed to speak at Mighty Peace Day. Youth Advocates Tegwyn Curtis and Nicole Chrenek were also thrilled to introduce the event’s Presenting Sponsor – FYidoctors – at today’s media conference, held at Grande Prairie Regional College.

“We are so excited to see Mighty Peace Day coming together with incredible speakers, bands, and dancers filling the day. We found an organization that has such a passion for inspiring, celebrating, and educating youth that they will be our Presenting Sponsor. We’re looking forward to a great 3-year relationship with FYidoctors.”, said Kevin Chrenek, Event Co-chair.
