The following are some comments received from our Interact friends on their foodbank drive experience:
Ken & Friends,
I must commend you on your fantastic organizational effort and success with the food bank drive. 500 volunteers, 100 teams, fifty two thousand plus food items valued at over $100,000, and food till next spring. Truly amazing! Thank you for letting us participate.
I also thought you should know some of the comments and anecdotes expressed by Interact students.
"Mr. Chabot, who was the person who told us to never lose our spirit and energy? It made me feel so proud of myself, and was the most inspirational thing I have ever heard!" (student comments after a brief inspirational moment by you)
"To me, the best part of the food drive and 'Pie-in-your-face' contest, was looking over and seeing such prominent community members come to the school to support our efforts. Really, for them to take so much time out of their day to appreciate the small things we do, when they do so much more, I don't get it. All I know is I hope I can be like them when I'm older." Simon Bossen speaking to a member of the parent council (As told to me by Mrs. Gerard, PWA principal)
Sometimes we think our efforts and endeavors, however simple, are not really making a huge difference in the world. I really want you to know that these students lives are changed, because you and Rotary are there to walk with them.
Thank you once again for transforming our youth and for inspiring me.
Yours truly
