Day 7 Today our plan was to leave at 0800 hrs for the trip of approximately 1000 kms. to Mazatlan. After breakfast we had to refuel and were on our way. Before the end of the day we had passed through 8 toll booths, 3 more fuelling stops, 1 roadside fuel stop for the fire truck, and 1 lunch stop.

The roads were much improved in this area compared to yesterday's roads. Scenery was very different as most was very luscious farm lands with a variety of crops such as barley, hops but mostly corn. We passed through several towns where the work force seemed to be farm labourers. It was dark shortly after 1800 hrs and we travelled 3 more hours in the dark to Mazatlan arriving at approximately 2130 hrs. We were greeted at the Las Flores Hotel by the Alberta contingent that flew to Mazatlan (Their travel time was approximately 5 hours on Saturday compared to our 7 days of travelling, but we got to see a lot more of the countryside.) Everyone was happy for our safe arrival complete with all 7 vehicles.
