HiWay to Mexico 2008 Day 14
Posted by Doug Bain
This morning we had a group breakfast hosted by the Rotoract Club of Mazatlan. This was our last get together with our hosts for the week. We exchanged banners from our clubs and each of us received recognition certificates from the local clubs. Then it was time to say good bye to all of our hosts. We were overwhelmed by the hospitality of the area Rotarians over the week. They just couldn't say enough "Mucho Gracias."
After packing and one last time relaxing around the beach, it was off to the airport, appropriately in a school bus, for the return flight to Calgary. We had to overnight there and return to Grande Prairie on Sunday, March 16th.
Wow! What a feeling of accomplishment, after driving 5000kms and then spending a week in Mazatlan making presentations of the vehicles. The group of us made many friends during this week, Rotarians and spouses that we know we could contact and keep an ongoing relationship with. It truly was a time of putting in place this year's International theme of "Rotary Shares."
