Highway to Mexico, Day 5

Great day today, everyone was able to sleep in and enjoy some down time prior to departure from Vegas…. So what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.
The girls found great blues brother’s hats to compliment Allan’s new chapeau. We followed interstate 95 out of Vegas to the east, truck #6 decided to go west my boy, but caught up after a slight detour. Then off through the desert, hills and heat of... Nevada. The roller coaster highway of California gave us a taste of the Mexico adventure we are yet to see. The Colorado River truly is beautiful as it sparkled and glimmered of turquoise blue. We then entered in Arizona as our goal was to reach Lake Havasu tonight. The air-conditioning in all the vehicles works fabulous as long as the tools are used to the right level, meaning…….all windows down. The heat feels great, and we understand it is only going to get hotter.
The 24 passenger school bus is driven by Rick and Bob came from the Calgary area. It is a 2006 so we hope there are many years left for use in Mexico. This is Rick’s 5th trip to the far south and Bob’s second trip. Sounds like county music is their favorite… well maybe only Ricks.
We were welcomed into Lake Havasu by Dave Chomik, what a wonderful sight! Dave and Elizabeth opened their home to our crew and shared a wonderful and delicious meal and their friendship. It was great to enjoy some laughs among friends tonight.
Tomorrow will be another long day as our goal is to reach Nogales, Arizona, an hour away from the border crossing into Mexico.
