It was a cold morning in Beaver. After the unveiling of the special gifts from Ray (colour blind) Grenier, see group picture, we were on the road by 9 am. We are ready for some heat. Vehicles were washed and checked, with only the red fire truck needing power steering fluid as armrest strong steering was required.

We left Utah, then into Arizon via the Virgin River Gorge. What a view! The road... kept going down, down, down until we reached construction at the bottom. Once we arrived at the other side we entered into Nevada. Immediately the weather warmed up and golf courses appeared.

Henry and Fred are driving a 1981 fire truck purchased from Calling Lake. Minor repairs completed by Ken Sargent Pontiac Buick of Grande Prairie. It rides well, full of gear and ready to hand the keys over once we arrive in Mazatlan.

This is Henry's second trip to deliver a vehicle to Mazatlan, and Fred's first. Fred joined Rotary just over a year ago. It is exciting to have a Rotarian join us for this years adventure.

So why did the 12 Rotarians signup for this year trip? Each of us have a comment goal. We are fortunate to have the lives we lead, and we know that through the synergies of working together we can make a larger difference for others. As we travel together, we are not bankers, engineers or bus drivers, we are Rotarians. We laugh, tell jokes and tease each other with friendship, fellowship and support. This is one of the few international projects that our clubs can participation in via driving. Not only is there a huge impact for those who are on this years trip and for the many who participated in the past, the impact is felt by so many in Mexico that we may never meet.

Oh yes, we arrived into Vegas today.....ImageImage
