Chile Relief Fundraiser

The Swan City Rotary Club will be hosting a fundraiser at the Shark Club on Thursday, October 28th at 6pm. This is a fellowship event with including dinner and silent auction. Cost is only $25 per person. All money raised will be used toward funding a mobile medical clinics in affected areas of Chile affected by the earthquakes earlier this year.
An earthquake with a magnitude of 8.8 struck Chile on Saturday February 27 2010 which was followed by a 125 mile long tsunami and additional 6.9 magnitude aftershock. The earthquake affected the Central Regions of Chile including Bio Bio, Maule, Metropolitan Santiago and Valparaiso.
Our Rotary Club, along with 4 others in Chile are raising funds to build mobile medical units to supplement, and in some cases replace, hospitals and clinics which were destroyed during the earthquake. The medical units will be constructed in Chile and have the ability to move from one town to another as needed.
