On May 5, 2011, Swan City Rotarians joined up with local Sustainable Resource Development Foresters to talk about trees with grade 1 classes throughout the Grande Prairie region.  Everyone met at the SRD shop at 7:30am to sort trees, meet their partners and enjoy a wonderful breakfast prepared by SRD and sponsored by Swan City Rotary.

At 9am,  the volunteers made presentations to hundreds of grade ones, talking trees, how to plant them, and why they are important.  Each student also received a white spruce seedling to plant when they returned home.

At 10am, Rotarians and SRD representatives met at Maude Clifford School to plan and dedicate a tree to that school.  Again a presentation was made about the importance of trees and the students were involved in helping plant the tree they were given.
