Chris Champ is your Project Leader for a Service thay will help many residence who can't rake their own leaves.  This porject is in partnership with Northland Shepherd's Center.


Northland Shepherd’s Center’s annual Rake the Town event helps residence in Clay and Platte County with yard waste removal. This year’s activities will be held Saturday, November 17, 2018.  Raking will begin no earlier than 9:00 a.m. and conclude when the last leaf is bagged. Unfortunately, in the case of inclement weather there will be no make-up date. Northland Shepherd’s Center is currently looking for individuals or teams to participate in our annual Rake the Town event. If you enjoy volunteering in the outdoors and possibly jumping in a pile of leaves, this is the opportunity for you. It’ a wonderful weekend event that provides fresh air, exercise, and a chance to meet new friends while helping an older adult in your community.



Joining the Team is Easy

·         Contact Teresa Davis, Northland Shepherd’s Center Volunteer Coordinator, at or call 816-844-3950 to sign up

·         Fill out participant paperwork: Volunteer Application and participant waiver

·         All lawn bags, bug spray, tools, and treats are being provide by our gracious event sponsor Thrivent Financial

·         If you don’t have rakes, let Teresa know and she will provide them for your team

·         Lawn bags will be placed at the resident’s curb for the pick-up team

·         Unfortunately, due to the holidays, there will be no make-up for rain
