The Comuma Coal Story
Jun. 30, 2017
"The Conuma Story has been real exciting as we now are 6 months old and have over 400 direct employees and another +2000 indirect local supporting jobs." Media welcome Mark Bartkoski, a registered Profesional Engineer, is a 37 year veteran of the mining industry. He began his career with a couple engineering degrees from Virginia Tech and then spent the next 10 yrs working his way up the operation ranks from an underground equipment operator, to all phases of production support. During next 20 yrs Mr. Bartkoski has started-up 2 new mining companies, and lead the rebuild of numerous others. His style is known to be aggressive, process oriented, value driven, and very employee empowering. At that point in his career, he wrote a book called Building Integrity, taught its fundamentals in numerous universities, and started international consulting work helping companies through the reorganization process. In 2015 he syndicated with four other mining executives to purchase a number of distressed metallurgical coal companies. Walters Canada was one of those purchases. Mr Bartkoski joins us as the President of Conuma Coal Resources.

The National Bee Diagnostic Centre Expansion
Sep. 01, 2017
Why we developed the National Bee Diagnostic Centre (want to better understand the pests, pathogens and parasites that are killing the bees) – what it does (specialized diagnostics) – how it reached capacity in year 3 (major applied research project and partnerships with beekeeping industry, government and University scientists) and how we are expanding it (a partnership with AAFC Beaverlodge)…which we think will enable Canada to take its place in the International Beekeeping community (i.e. international recognition). The Last Great Race On Earth.
Oct. 27, 2017
The Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race is an annual long-distance sled dog race run in early March from Settler's Bay to Nome, which takes place entirely in the US state of Alaska. Mushers and a team of 16 dogs,[1] of which at least 5[2] must be on the towline at the finish line, cover the distance in 8–15 days or more.[1] The Iditarod began in 1973 as an event to test the best sled dog mushers and teams but evolved into today's highly competitive race. Aaron Peck will be there. He'll share his story. |
