Toby Cook enters will enter his 10th full season as Vice President-Community Affairs & Publicity in 2016. A veteran of broadcast journalism, Cook oversees public and community relations for the team, including player and staff appearances, partnerships with civic organizations, and Royals Charities. During his tenure, his department has added a series of successful charity events, distributing millions of dollars in grants, tickets and memorabilia to the community. He also directed community efforts win Kansas City with Major League Baseball during the 2014 and 2015 World Series.
Prior to joining the Royals, Cook spent 15 years as a news anchor and reporter at four television stations, including WDAF-TV in Kansas City. He has also reported for several radio stations and newspapers.
Cook is a graduate and Outstanding Alumnus Award winner from Pittsburg (Kan.) State University.
He lives in Overland Park, Kan., with his wife, Barbara, and children: Adam, Molly, Annie, Andrew and Caroline.
