Thanks to Dr. Paul Kim for introducing the MOOC!

Thanks to Dr. Paul Kim, Assistant Dean and Chief Technical Officer at Stanford's Graduate School of Education, for describing the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) and it's effectiveness despite obvious challenges of varied locations, difference languages, large numbers, and more.  The changing face of education as it grows to inlcude more online learning opportunities has serious implications for future educational opportunities for all.  The potential to support education in developing countries is particularly interesting to members of Palo Alto University Rotary.  We applaud all efforts to bring education to those who can't get it, no matter the vehicle, and the MOOC just might be an efficient and cost effective option.
