Les Melburg asked that we all give poor President Ercolano a break, that it was a set-up joke when he got the hook last week. 
 
Gordon Flinn “advertised” the upcoming Business Leadership Luncheon in August and the Simpson University 25 year celebration of being in Redding.  He paid the customary $25 advertising fine!  The Business Leadership Luncheon is Tuesday, August 12 at Simpson beginning at 11:30 a.m.  Guest speaker is Dr. Tim Elmore a leading authority on how to understand the next generation and prepare tomorrow’s leaders.  The 25 Year Celebration is October 3-4, 2014.
 
Ducky Derby tickets are available for you to sell.  Your Team Captains will have your tickets or you can contact Barb Barnes.  Please turn in your tickets and money to Bill Evanhoe directly this year.
 
A group of RER members attended the District 5160 Annual Awards Banquet last weekend and the club won several.  Top Fundraiser for the District (Ducky Derby), Presidential Citation for Actively Promoting Rotary and the Rotary Club Central award.
 
Speaking of hooks, President Ercolano was presented with a hook since his Board Meeting went over the hour he promised.  Now he has a hook to have better control over all his meetings.

Cathy Grindstaff reminded the club that we will have an inbound exchange student from Mexico this year.  No date on her arrival yet.
 
RECOGNITION:  Ed Harrison just got back from France and attendance at our former exchange student Mady’s wedding.  He paid $100 for representing the club.  Surely the other Rotarians in attendance at that event will also be fined in the future.  He also visited former exchange students Paulina and Sophie!
 
In honor of President Ercolano’s Hawaiian theme, he asked all club members who had ever visited Hawaii or planned to visit Hawaii to stand!  No fine, just fun.
 
Tom Price won the chance to try the 50/50 basketball game and he made the basket!  He won the pot.
 
Today’s presentation was by Emily Westphal and was about One Safe Place (formerly the Women’s Refuge).  She covered the new “No More” campaign and the capital campaign in place to raise money for a new women’s shelter.
 
The door prize of $20 to San Francisco Deli was won by Carla Barrett.
