Today's meeting was brought to us by Team 5 – The High Fives and high fives were had by all!  Good thing I practice those with the dog during football games!

Next week the club is DARK.  DON'T COME TO ROTARY!

Do come to Rotary on January 5th for the BLOOD DRIVE!   If you haven't signed up yet, please contact Frank Lehmann for a time slot.

Marge Beck reported that her daughter is doing better.  She has been diagnosed with a rare form of Meningitis, something you get from pigeon poop or red eucalyptus trees.  Her Christmas gift this year is a stuffed pigeon with pins so she can retaliate against this horrible illness with voodoo!  It will be months before she is well, but she is doing better.  Please keep her in your prayers.

Queen Bev Stupek is going down south for a procedure on her neck next week.  She claimed it was a second boob job because the first one didn't work.  Ha Ha!  Wish her well and recovery.

Terry Hanson has taken a leave of absence while he cares for his mother who is in Hospice

Care.  Please keep Terry in your prayers as well.

Milt Schultz called attention to the fact that President Charlie's wife has a broken arm?  Seems that Judy and Charlie were walking from the mall and she "tripped" over his foot and broke her wrist.  Milt couldn't punish or fine the Prez, so past-prez, the Queen Bev did it for him.  He paid $50 for the mishap.

Laura Redwine introduced the Community Builder for the week, Mary Rickert from Prather Ranch.  Mary is the owner of Prather Ranch, very active in her church, a member of the Shasta Land Trust, a past Plus One Mentor, on the board of the Shasta Regional Community Foundation and the Shasta County Health Board and does trash pickup for fun!  We all couldn't figure out why Laura was so choked up during her presentation until she admitted that Mary is her mother-in-law!  Congrats Mary!

A check for $7,065 was presented to the club for our Ducky Derby proceeds.  President Charlie did a little reprimand to members for the dismal turnout at last week's Ducky Derby money distribution.  After all, every club member contributes so much time to this event and we gave out $208,000.  We should all be at these events to celebrate!  Next year!

Tracey Cooper, one of our newer members, gave a tribute to Ducky Derby and how proud she was of our club.  She said she is going to have her children's school step it up next year and head toward what Boulder Creek School raised, $18,000+.

President Charlie thanked Marge Beck, Marge Remedios and Bill Evanhoe for their extra efforts with Ducky Derby.  He also thanked Sue Metcalfe for the outstanding Christmas Party and Bill Haedrich and Judy Menoher for sharing their beautiful homes for the event.  Bill Evanhoe and Tammy Miller were also recognized for their Angel Tree efforts.

The 50/50 pot is at $698.  Keith Ritter was the lucky ticket winner, but wasn't so lucky at the marble draw.

The program was the wonderful voices of the Sweet Adelines.  Awesome!

The gift of chocolate was won by Chris Lehmann, visiting college student and son of Frank Lehmann.
