Our program speaker for March 13th will be Heather Parker and Alexandra Carter from Hooves for Harmony.

Hooves for Harmony is a non-profit program that allows disabled children to ride horses and experience the outdoors. Children with any disability, whether physical, emotional, or developmental, can benefit from interacting with, and riding our equine friends. The gentle movement of the horse, and the warmth of their body increases blood flow, muscle control, and balance.  Riding a horse is an enjoyable and stimulating way for a child to exercise. It also allows children, otherwise restricted to indoor activities, to go for a “hike” or to play soccer, from a horse’s back. Therapeutic riding is recognized by the American Physical Therapists Association and the American Occupational Therapists Association.
