Redding East Rotary would like to thank and recognize Rotarian Dr. Dennis Mihalka and his wife Mary for their many years of service and contributions to our club and Rotary International.  As of September 1, 2010, the Mihalka's will move to Hawaii and start a new adventure.  Although we wish them well in their new home, RER and all the members will miss them dearly.

Not one to leave things unfinished, Dr. Mihalka sent this note to President Menoher last weekend:

      Hello Charlie,

We could not have done it without our club's support, member's participation and the Rotary Foundation...they all came together to make it happen.  The key is that many AIDS afflicted patients now have hope instead of despair.  Rotary changes lives...

We leave on September 1 and the remaining three weeks will be devoted to packing, loading the moving container, shipping cars and wrapping things up.  We will return from time to time...Redding is a special place with great folks.

I don't think I have officially offered my resignation from Rotary Redding East as I wanted to participate until the AIDS Clinic grant was complete.  It seems it is near that point so let this be the time of my resignation.  I have very much enjoyed the great folks in our club and am amazed at all it does for our local and international communities.  We wish you and each member great success and rewards for the wonderful work Redding East is able to accomplish.

Sincerely,

Dennis Mihalka
