Dave Ercolano Selected Redding East Rotary “Rotarian of the Year”.

Dave Ercolano, a principle owner and manager of Coastal Business Systems in Redding, was recently honored at the Annual Presidents Banquet (aka: Demotion Dinner and Party) as the Rotarian of the Year by the Redding East Rotary Club.

Dave was raised in Rochester, New York and graduated in 1978 from the College of Environmental Science & Forestry with a Bachelor of Science degree in Resources Management. After Forest Service work in Colorado, Dave moved to California and has spent the last 30 years with Coastal Business Systems in sales and management.

Dave was born in New York of Italian descent, with his grandparents emigrating to the United States from Italy. He attended Catholic schools through high school and then graduating from college in 1978, he was planning on a career in the Forest Service. After moving to Northern California from Colorado, his plans changed and he started Coastal Business Systems in 1981 and the partnership is still growing, with stores in Redding and Chico. Dave moved from Chico to Redding in 1995 to run the Redding store, and joined Redding East Rotary that same year. Dave has been married to Kelli for 26 years and they have two boys.

In addition to Dave's active involvement with the Redding East Rotary, including a member of the Club Board of Directors, he is also on the Board of Regents for Turtle Bay Exploration Park and a member of the Northern Business Associates.

Dave's involvement with Redding East Rotary has been widespread and varied, from his assisting with the Annual Ducky Derby to being deeply involved in the membership drive for both his Club and for the 8 Clubs in the North State. He has been a tireless “behind the scenes” worker on the many projects that Rotary sponsors, and has been a regular “host family” for the International Exchange program here in Redding.

Dave Ercolano is the latest in a long list of Rotarian’s of the Year, including Marge Remedios, Chris Carter, Tom Price, Milt Schultz, Steve Pitman, and Marge Beck. The Club is honored to name Dave as the Rotarian of the Year for 2011.Image
