Redding Tai Chi Garden

Michel is a long-term resident of Shasta County having moved to Redding with his family in 1984. He is a graduate of the University of Idaho and the San Francisco College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. He has two businesses, East Earth Trade Winds Chinese herb store and Redding Acupuncture Health Care both of which are located in the Cobblestone Shopping Center on Hartnell Avenue. In his spare time he teaches the Chinese exercise Tai Chi through the Shasta College Community Education program and also at Unity Church on Churn Creek. Currently he is spokesman for the Redding Tai Chi Meditation Garden Project.

Description:  Redding Tai Chi is spearheading a project to build a court for low-impact exercises such as Tai Chi or yoga. The location will be at the Turtle Bay Exploration Park. The Turtle Bay Board of Directors has approved the donation of land  located at the northwest end of the Sundial Bridge for the project. Local architects, Ryan Russell and Terry Topolski, have modified our plans for the site. At this time the project is out to bid with Don Gallino Inc. Construction. We hope to complete our fundraising by early summer which will enable the construction of the park.
