RYLE Overview
When: April 30 - May 3, 2026
Where: In person at Camp Nakamun
Fees: $500 paid by Rotary Club of Edson for a student who is eager and willing to participate in the program. Students for cancel for any reason may be asked to pay back the fee.

In 2024, Nolan Taylor went on the RYLE experience and had a great time making friends and learning valuable leadership skills.
Who is it for?
RYLE (Rotary Youth Leadership Experience) is an annual conference hosted by the RYLE Committee and sponsored by the Rotary Clubs of District 5370. This experience is intended for high school students (grades 9 to 12) who would like to gain or strengthen their leadership skills and learn how to be active citizens who strive to make a positive impact in the world.
The programming of the camp has three main focuses: interpersonal growth, communication, and community building and global citizenship. Students are encouraged to take part on a challenge-by-choice basis and ample opportunity is given for each participant to express their individuality and test their strengths.
One of the greatest outcomes of the program, however, is by far the relationships, communities, and trust that are built within the camp. Over a short, yet intense, period the students develop strong trust with both the counsellors and other campers, where they feel comfortable sharing parts of themselves, they often haven’t shared with anyone else in their lives. The bonds formed at RYLE have proven time and time again to form lasting supports and many of our alumni are still in contact today. The camp further acts as a gateway into the Rotary Community, providing trackways and opportunities to service-oriented individuals to become involved on a wider scale.
Our students enter RYLE as individuals primed for growth. They leave as leaders and part of our Rotary family.

We are thrilled to announce that registration for the 2026 Rotary Youth Leadership Enrichment Program (RYPEN) is officially open.
RYPEN is more than just a weekend away; it’s a transformative experience designed for students aged 14–17 to build confidence, explore leadership styles, and connect with a network of motivated peers.

- Location: Camp Yowochas, Fallis, AB (on Lake Wabamun)

Are you looking for ways to build self-confidence, self esteem, and develop a variety of personal skills?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, then RYPEN may be for you!
RYPEN is a five-day Rotary camp that takes place in May. The program is created for young people who want to grow but have limited opportunities to attend other development programs. You will be given an opportunity to learn new things about yourself, your abilities and the world around you.
Who Qualifies?
If you are currently a high school student, aged 15-18, you may qualify.
Participants must be within the age limit, and be recommended by school guidance counsellors, local Rotary clubs, or other organizations that work with youth.

Each student must be sponsored by a Rotary Club. The club will arrange transportation for their students and supervisors. RYPEN participants will not be permitted to take their own vehicles.
