Chartered on August 15, 1997 with 25 members, our charter was sponsored by the Rotary club of Hinton.
Rotarians work every day to foster the mission statement “Service Above Self”, effecting positive change domestically and internationally.

Edson Rotarians are volunteers who work to improve the community in which they live and work, and to contribute hours to international projects. Rotarians bring a wide range of experience and skills to their volunteer service, as they are business people and professionals already resident in the area, who have a unique understanding of community needs.
The Rotary Club of Edson has completed many projects localy and internationally and has formed successful partnerships with many organizations. The Edson Club partnered with the Town of Edson to construct the Skateboard Park and trail systems; Edson Early Learning & Child Care Centre & Rotary Club partnered to construct the child care centre; Rotary Club partnered with the Rotary Club of Sudan to build a school in Southern Sudan; Rotary Club partnered with two Rotary Clubs in Belize to improve school facilities in Belize; Rotary Club partners every year with Rotary Clubs of Grande Prairie and Mazatlan to deliver emergency vehicles to the City of Mazatlan and surrounding communities.
The Edson Rotary Club also provides yearly scholarships to local youth attending post secondary institutions who exhibit 'Service Above Self'
