The Burnsville Noon Rotary was proud to present a check to Brainpower in a Backpack from their fundraising efforts. As a result of a generous  matching grant from an anonymous donor, the Rotary club will be able to make a larger impact with one of our community partners this year. Making a difference in the lives of the young adults in our community will be enhanced thanks to this joyful giving.

BrainPower in a Backpack is an on going volunteer project of  Burnsville ISD 191 Community Education and Burnsville High School.  Burnsville high school students pack weekend food for elementary school students in ISD 191 whose families struggle to put enough food on the table. Because academic performance is related to nutrition, their goal is to improve the student learning experience for children with the greatest need in throughout District 191.

During 2018-2019, BrainPower will provide more than 700 students with a bag of food each week - enough for at least four meals and two snacks.
