To better understand Project Amigo, here is its Mission Statement:

To enable the disadvantaged and marginalized youth of Suchitlan, Colima, Mexico to achieve their highest potential by providing educational opportunities, material support and enrichment activities; to provide opportunities for volunteers to help and build relationships with Project Amigo youth in Mexico and to foster friendship and understanding between Rotarians, friends and organizations from developed countries and from within Mexico.
