I really enjoyed presenting to your Rotary club on Thursday, January 21, 2010. The topic of the "one child policy" came to my mind the second I saw "political issues" in your first email, since I have many Canadian friends who are interested in it and ask me about it.
It would be great if you can correct my errors in this letter. I always love to learn, although I am always struggling with English. After I arrived in Canada, my English grammar became weaker and weaker. I should find a way to practice that.

When I first encountered questions regarding the "one child policy," I just answered with what I thought was right. However, when I talked to my mom after that, she really laughed at me for being so ignorant, since my answered was far from right. I learned about the "one child policy" in my political science class in Junior High, but forgot everything.

She taught me a lot about it since she personally experienced it and had her own points of view. As a result, when I was preparing for this presentation, I didn't face too much difficulty, but still surprised by some facts, such as the government giving money to the single child family.

I was a little nervous before the presentation, but it didn't last long. While I stood there, I didn't really have much time to look at my notes, thus I missed a couple minor points. Everything else went very well. I really liked that there were a lot of questions after the presentation. I felt that my work was appreciated and the audience were actually listening to me. So I am really happy about it.

I did some presentations besides the Bridges Program before, but never experience a club like Rotary. The experience was fresh and nice. I hope I can have more chances in the future. I would really love to join a club like Rotary after I graduate and am employed.

Thank you for all the work you have done.

Cheers,

Ning Ding
