Mischa Ginns
Shine On Award Winner

Mischa first came to Australia as a Rotary exchange student from South Africa in 1999.  She returned 9 years later to live in a country she now calls home.  Mischa is a Chartered Accountant and worked for KPMG and Australian Accounting Standards Board before she injured her spine in a rowing competition in 2012.  Mischa loves sport.  She used to be a competitive swimmer and rower.  She has learned the game of footy and follows Hawthorn in the AFL.  Mischa has spent the last 6 years rehabilitating from a spinal injury and complications from surgery.  She is now able to walk on crutches for short periods of time.  It is her goal to walk unaided and live independently.  She has been accepted for the Masters in Occupational Therapy Program at Monash University where she hopes to equip herself in order to help others who suffer similar physical and mental health complications.

RAP is proud that Mischa won the Rotary Shine On Award on 22 April.
