Description
Kyebe Maternity Ward
 

This project is to renovate and re-establish the Maternity Ward and Children's Ward of the Kyebe Maternity Clinic, based in Kyebe Uganda. 

The ultimate goal of this project is to return the clinic and ward to a usable, safe and secure environment to improve the healthcare outcomes of the local community. Our goal is to empower the local community to take ownership of the project and the facility long term.

Wheelchairs for Kids, Rwanda
 
We are project managing a one-off fundraiser via Wheelchair for Kids for Heroes Day Care – a facility specializing in support kids with Cystic Fibrosis in Rwanda (which is next-door to Uganda, if you aren’t familiar).

Rotary Albert Park supports Solar Smiles Dental Charity providing free preventative and relief of pain dentistry by taking Australian dental teams to Cambodia and Timor Leste, partnering with local dental professionals using their innovative Solar Powered Backpack dental chairs.

Sovuzwa Educare Centre, South Africa
 
The facility is located in an informal township outside of Khayelitsha, itself just outside Cape Town, which has been hard hit by the virus.  The situation in the area is dire, with even water becoming a rare commodity.
 
Books for Vanuatu
 
Hundreds of library books donated to the Ratua Foundation for schools in Vanuatu to provide their students with a great collection of books from around the world.

Donations in Kind (DIK)
 
Rotary Donations In Kind is a major recycling operation, run by volunteers, that gives suitable goods to people in need, both internationally and locally.  Our donation will support their rental payments.  Recently RAP collected bedlinen and goods from DIK to provide to YWCA/Claremont House set up.  Solar Smiles were also able to access several thousands of dollars worth of dental equipment.

Teacher Training Project, India

Bodhi Tree Special School, India
 
The Bodhi Tree Special School was set up in late 2016 for Children with Developmental Disability.  These disabilities include Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Mental Retardation, and Multiple other disabilities that cannot be cured by drugs or surgery.

Cambodian Kids Foundation
 
CKF is a not for profit organisation and a registered Cambodian NGO, founded by Rotary Albert Park member Donna Cooper, supported with $2,000 per year.

Russian Hospital, Phnom Penh
 
We helped DIK in loading some 99 hospital beds and a number of other items from Peter Mac Hospital into a 40 ft container to go to the Russian Hospital in Cambodia.

A not-for-profit project providing housing, education and medical support for people in remote Tibet.
Fire Emergency Vehicle, South Africa
 
With the help of Rotary Albert Park, The Rotary Club of Newlands were able to donate a multipurpose vehicle to the Emergency Volunteer Services (EVS).   We raised over $21,000 by way of a raffle for a trip to South Africa.

Chaeli School, South Africa
 
We donated $2,000 for the new astro turf play area at the Chaeli Campaign Centre.  This is a a non-profit organisation working to mobilise the minds and bodies of children with disabilities located in South Africa (Western Cape).
