Assistance to Farmers after Flood

In February 2011 members from RCAP travelled to Rochester to assist flood victims rebuild fencing on their 1800 acre property. All of the property except one of the houses was flooded and with 500 head of cattle contained in one small area, fencing needed to be restored quickly so the cattle could be moved to the one and only grassed area left on the farm. It was also  important to get these fences in place to stop the cattle wondering on the roads and rail line.
With the help of our volunteers and a Manitov Teleloader fences buried under mud and debris where pulled back/ draged /strained and restored to original position. One of the fence had been dragged from one side of the road to the other. The helpers suffered from barbed wire cuts  and many sunk into the mud and slush. At the close of the day all volunteers were delighted to have  restored all of the homestead fences into their original position.
