Feb. 28, 2026                                                                           PLEASE REVIEW
Hello Members!

This week's meeting will be an important one as we brainstorm some flexible options that might make the club more accessible to potential new members. Additionally, a few things happened recently; 1) we became aware that the no-lunch dues option for long distance/long-time members is not addressed in our bylaws, that needs fixed, 2) we'd like to consider some no-lunch options that we could make available to potential new members, or even make available to all members, and 3) we'd like to address a member request for a discounted no-lunch membership. Decisions made at this meeting will likely affect our bylaws that we'll address at a future meeting.

We hope you'll review the information here before the meeting.
Here is some background information to help us discuss the options intelligibly. Some of the options we'll discuss (thanks to research by a task force - June & Mike Bailey, Rick & Jo Gilpatrick, Mike Z. Katie P and Kyle B with background support from Cathy and Marcia) will have a different dues effect on members based on attendance. Please keep in mind, we are not looking for a lot of different membership levels, so if we can find one solution that fits many scenarios, that would be great.
Our current high attending members could pay more if they maintain the same level of attendance in the pay-as-you-go scenario, while others would pay less annually. It all depends on our approach and the wisdom of the club.
Below are 3 venue options.
Option One: Stay with CWC, lunch prepaid through dues. Includes entree, veg, salad bar, drink, dessert, $14.25 as voted by club 7/25. Meeting room and tech, all inclusive. Dues remain at $800 annually.
Option Two: Convert all members to pay-as-you go with dues lowered to $300-$400 annually. Order off menu or buffet, $7.50 - $17.00. Pay for meal at cafe. Includes meeting room at no addl cost.
Option Three: Convert all members to pay-as-you-go refreshments, with dues lowered to $300-$400 annually. Meet at Reach Clubhouse for dessert & drinks, brown bag your own lunch. Club cleans up. Expense for meeting room and food paid by club.

It's also possible we could entertain these options in a more limited way, but one that helps us gain new members. We'd then use the new options to grow membership in areas not well represented in the club at this time - non-profits, start-ups, etc.

Whatever decisions are made, should be made with your input, so we hope you will attend this Tuesday. Once made, we'll create new verbiage for the bylaws, then vote on new bylaws per our usual method describe in that document.

Thanks to all for digging into this with us.
