Maria Kidner has spoken to our Riverton Rotary Club in the past about the Rotary International Rwandan project that was training nurses to identify Rheumatic Heart Disease, providing knowledge, skills and the tools for remote nurses to assess, diagnosis, and treat Streptococcus pyogenes infection and acute rheumatic fever. The program is now working in Zambia also. Dr. Kidner will bring us up-to-speed on their successes and the work ahead.

The Riverton Rotary Club provides high school seniors in Fremont County the opportunity to apply for scholarships to help assist with college expenses. We generally give four awards totaling $3,000.

If chosen for an interview a Riverton Rotarian contacts candidates via email. Students interviewed are asked to discuss their goals and have some knowledge of Rotary. Awardees are expected to hold a 2.5 or higher GPA in both the fall and spring semesters of college.
Please help spread the word to local high school seniors, as well as school staff that you think can promote this opportunity to others.
