Student Adventure and Leadership Programs For 2012-13

 

Riverview Rotary has a great line-up of Adventure Programs for High School students this year.  Rotary’s Adventure and Leadership programs provide an incredible benefit. Students can broaden their outlook, increase their understanding, make new friends, and experience many new activities. Our programs are always a positive experience.

 

Adventures in Citizenship - Sponsored by the Rotary Club of Ottawa – April 28 - May 1, 2013.  We have 1 student spot reserved.  Students aged 16-18 are eligible.  Student needs to be selected by mid February and the name sent to Ottawa by March 8th.  Criteria for this program includes: excellent academic standing, leadership ability, community service with an emphasis on non-school related volunteering.  Being bilingual is also an asset for this program.  For more information, go to:  http://www.rotaryottawa.com

 

Adventures in Technology - Sponsored by the Rotary Clubs of Saskatoon – April 29-May 3, 2013. 2 student spots reserved - Grade 11-12 students are eligible.  Students need to be selected by early March and names sent to Saskatoon by March 23rd.  This program allows students to explore advanced technology, research, development, and applications.  For more information, go to:

Adventures in Forestry and Environmental Studies - Sponsored by the Rotary Club of Prince George Yellowhead - May 1-5, 2013

1 student spot requested – High school students (grades 10-12) are eligible.  Student needs to be selected by early April and information sent to Prince George by April 19th.  This program promotes an interest in careers in Forestry.  The program introduces students to a wide variety of careers in the forest and environmental industries.  Students spend 3 days touring Prince George sawmills, pulp mills, tree nurseries, reforestation sites, post-secondary institutions and other related points of interest.  For more information, go to:

Adventures in Tourism - Sponsored by the Ogopogo Rotary Club Kelowna – April 7 – 12, 2013

1 student spot requested – High achieving high school students ages 16 - 19 are eligible.  During their intensive program, participants will be given unprecedented behind the scenes access to the inner workings of an exciting array of some of Canada’s leading destination resorts, golf clubs, wineries and First Nations.  The students will also be treated to the very best hospitality, being welcomed into Rotarian homes for the duration of their stay.
