Brightview is an Edmonton elementary school with a student population of approximately 200. It is one of the many high needs schools in the Edmonton Public schools system. The challenges faced by the families at the school include poverty, single family homes, parents with low levels of education, and a high rate of neighbourhood crime. The families have fewer resources at home for basics such as clothes, recreation activities, and home furnishings. To meet this need, the Rotary Club of Edmonton Mayfield adopted Brightview Elementary School.

Currently, the Rotary Club of Edmonton Mayfield provides a Food for Thought” program, a weekly hot lunch program (a meal which may be the only one some of the students receive that day, students also receive a modest breakfast), an annual Christmas Turkey lunch (where the Rotarians provide the food and serve the 200 students at Brightview), and a year-end BBQ and sports afternoon. In addition, the club is supporting Brightview as it becomes an APPLE school. The APPLE program program motivates change and transforms school environments for improved learning and health. The goal of the project is a transformation into a healthy school community.

Past activities at Brightview have included: a book drive to fill the library, a daily breakfast program, and a bicycle drive.
