We had a good meeting and meal at the University Club this Thursday. This was the first meeting chaired by our new president, Judy Wilson. The meal was salmon and it was delicious. The meeting was, in my opinion, a good start for Judy's year. Judy is enthusiastic and ambitious she will be a great leader to take over Elizabeth's good work and invigorate our Covid damaged Club. I counted 11 members at our meeting (including 2 guests) We started with the old traditions; - we sang the National Anthem; then; - then a thought of the day - then we had Fines master Pat conduct an (impossible to answer) British Open quiz We reviewed and approved our reviewed financial statements Then Judy gave us her President message including Goal setting (one goal is to add 6 new members to the Club this year) We will review of our Community Foundation Fund objectives discussed the importance for members to get a Criminals record check so they can participate in volunteer functions Judy is exploring an opportunity to participate as volunteers at the Edmonton marathon Plans are well under way for our "Stephens Hope for Mozambique" fundraiser the wine tasting dinner we are calling A Taste of Hope. We will be looking for gift cards, sponsors, silent auction items and ticket sales |
