We had another great virtual meeting on the morning of President Biden’s inauguration. Judy updated is on Agnes’ battle with cancer. Judy reports that Agnes is feeling more positive and her spirits are up. Our thoughts and prayers are with Agnes at the difficult time. Several members, including Deb and Brian Hamilton offered to help Judy with chauffeuring Agnes to her medical appointments. Judy will coordinate. Thank you to everyone who volunteered to help out. Pat Coyle gave us a brief financial report. In particular, he reported that we have sent $1,000 to Mozambique to be used for school maintenance. Our Club has lost 3 members since the Pandemic we currently have 24 members. We understand that it is difficult to maintain enthusiasm for the group when we can not get together in person or participate in social or charitable activities together. Hopefully we will be able to convince those members to return when things get easier. Tony is participating in the Coldest Night of the Year fundraiser again this year. Tony is one of our members that truly demonstrates the Rotary motto “service above self”. If you have not already done so, I encourage you to sponsor him. Just a reminder, we will not have a meeting next Wednesday morning. Rather, we will have a virtual Pub night on Wednesday evening. Watch for the invitation. |
