January 12
We only had 7 people show up of our weekly Zoom meeting.
Pat was unable to join us this morning. He was nursing Joan. She had back surgery this week. Pat reports that she is doing well.  Get well soon Joan.
We did not have a speaker this week so we just had a general conversation. Our conversation ranged through a number of interesting topics, ;
  1. Did yo know that Judy makesa variety of  Christmas cakes. Wot Dave no longer around to sell us the Masonic fruit cakes every Christmas she could be our “go to” for Christmas cakes
  2. we had a great discussion of about how Christmas cakes are “adult” food. (ie no one likes them as kids but they get better as we age)
  3. we talked about condensed milk. How is is still used in coffee and various othe uses for condense milk
  4. we talked about other Christmas foods like “Christmas pudding” and Swedish “oily balls”
  5. we talked about bird watching and how even magpies can be fun to watch;
  6. we shared stories about our dogs
  7. and we followed the obligatory Canadian tradition of whining about the weather.
If you missed the meeting you missed a great conversation.
