Dec 8 Rotary We had a great turnout for our Annual General Assembly. I counted 15 members on my Zoom screen. Tony shared his recent brush with covid experience. He travelled to Ontario for his employer’s conference. While there an attendee tested positive for Covid. The conference was cancelled and they could not bool flights home so he drove his rental car from Toronto to Edmonton. Welcome home Tony. Tereena Morelli and Judy Wilson(the Princess and the Queen) were acclaimed as our incoming co-presidents . Judy and Lorne had reports that were very inspirational. (Our Club has put in $500.000 into Mozambique since 2005!) WE also held a general meeting of the Steven’s Hope Society Highlights of the meeting: - Our application for charitable status is still pending. Deb is very optimistic that it will be granted as soon as our amended objects have been filed with the Provincial government. They were submitted 2 months ago and we have no indication of how much longer it will take;
- The Societies has a ½ million $ fundraising goal
- Kylie has created the Society’s new web site. https://www.stevenshope.ca/
The incoming board is Judy Wilson, Deb Jack, Shannon Troke, Elizabeth Bonkink , Brian Liddell and the CEO Lorne Parker |
