Another great virtual meeting om St Patrick’s Day, March 17 2021. I counted 14 members on my screen. We did not have a speaker this week. We just talked among ourselves and, once again. we managed to make the meeting pretty informative and entertaining. Several attendees were sporting Irish gear in tribute to St Patrick’s Day but our birthday girl, Trina, had the best Irish outfit. We had a discussion about the differences and advantages between Google Meets (that the City and the school board uses) and the Zoom platform that we are using. Doug McEwan has had his first Covid shot. Mathew Baranowski joined us again. Matt is an engineer with PCL Construction and he is interested in joining our group. Welcome aboard Matt. We look forward to meeting you in person. Elizabeth advised that the Edmonton Community Foundation will be hosting a donor appreciation night again this year. The debaters will perform for a “drive-in’ performance at the Expo Center pm May 16th. Mark your calendars and watch for your invitation. Judy reported that Cindy recently gave a great presentation to the City Council and she received rave reviews. She talked about the history of the McKay Avenue School and the 140 foacts for 140 years that Cindy and her staff have posted at archivesmuseum.epsb.ca Pat Coyle’s Rotary moment was about his introduction of Trina to our Club. Pat has done an awful lot for our Club over the years but that has to be one of his biggest contributions. Apparently several members read my bulletin to play a game of “spot the mistake”. Every writer needs a proofreader and I, apparently, have several. |
