We had a great virtual meeting. I counted 12 people on my computer screen.
Elisabeth and Gary introduced their new puppy, Orion.
Judy brought some great news. Agnes received the results from a recent blood test and they showed that she is responding to treatment amazingly well. That is very good news.
We will try to host a speaker on the first day of each month. We will invite Dr. Randy Gregg to speak to us. He will talk about his plans to bring a new baseball team to the City. Please contact our speaker coordinator, Brian Liddell, with suggestions for a speaker.
Cindy Davis received and presented her Paul Harris award to herself. Congratulations Cindy.
Judy reported that she recently participated in a X-country symposium on protocol. They discussed about the movement in protocol from ceremony to “story telling”
Lorne Parker presented his Rotary memories. He talked about our good friend David Winfield. He talked about a time Dave fell asleep while helping Lorne pick up a rental van in South Africa. He also talked about the subterfuge David engaged in in order to attend Lorne’s Robbie Burns dinner every year.
Cindy will not be hosting our next meeting. She will be under the knife have surgery. Good luck Cindy. We will be thinking of you.
Lorne Parker gave a brief report on how Mozambique is coping with Covid 19. He reported that they have been badly hit and they do not have the medical facilities to diagnose or treat the victims but they are following the safety protocols.
Next week, January 20 Pat will host our meeting. The following Wednesday will by a virtual Pub Night.
Tony s will be running in the “Coldest night of the year” fundraiser. Watch for his email.
Lorne will be speaking to the Yellowknife Rotary Club at noon on Thursday the 21st. Hopefully we will be able to join that meeting and enjoy Lorne’s eloquence.
