We held a dinner meeting at the University Club on Thursday October 6. We were treated to a delicious turkey dinner.

I counted 17 people at the table including our speaker Shalini Sinha and several guests and potential new members.

Our Club is hosting an  evening at the theater on Thursday November 3, 2022. We have reserved the entire for that evening.  President Judy distributed tickets and asked that we share them with friends and contacts. We are gifting the tickets but using the event as a fundraiser for Stephen’s Hope.  Please bring silent auction items, bottles of wine and gift cards to our next meeting on October 19.

Our speaker this week was Shalini Sinha.  Shalini was born in Behar India, raised in Alberta and recently returned to Alberta from Ireland where she was an anti racism activist and consultant.

Shalini is the chairperson of the Edmonton Anti Racism committee. She talked about the challenges of growing up as a brown skin girl in Alberta, her experience in Ireland and the role of the Anti Racism committee. Thank You to Shalini for a very important and informative presentation.
