Rotary May 19
Great meeting on May 19. I counted 12 people on my screen.
For those of you who don’t follow him, Tony is a star on twittersphere. If you don’t follow him I suggest you give it a try. He willintroduce you to many interesting people.
Judy reported that Agnes had CT scan last week. Markers are good but her voice and eyesight are suffering.

Monica Started her presentation by sharing profile of her clients.
She pointed out that literacy problems interfere with people’s  their ability to cope.
Her definition of literacy is much wider than just the ability to read and write. It includes the apbility to ead, understand and apply material and use technology. Statistics show;
 2/5 of the population reads below grade 4 level and;
. 50% struggle with basic math.
Covid has amplified the barriers of illiteracy.
Pals wants to offer an opportunity for adults to learn. Support 18 years and up. Literacy, math literacy and digital literacy. I 2020 tutred over 250 students despite coved,

Her organization is looking for volunteers, mentors and donations.
