Annual Camp Visit
Camp Freedom 2010
As a part of a partnership with the Spina Bifida
& Hydrocephalus Association of Northern Alberta (SBHANA), the
Edmonton Gateway Rotary Club has again sponsored the annual teen camp
for teenagers affected with spina bifida. Conducted in late July, and directed, as in the past, by Darlene Cathcart and Monica
Sneath, club members were encouraged to visit the camp in operation. On
Friday, several club members visited camp and
observed campers on the rock wall and the ropes course. It is truly
amazing what these young people do. This is a facility and course which
would challenge those of us who are 'able-bodied'! And here were young
people, whose legs often don't work so well, doing as well as most of us
would, or even better!
